Children in the Care of Lambeth Council is a page on the website of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
Alongside the investigations into local authorities in Nottinghamshire and Rochdale, this investigation will provide the Inquiry with a sound basis from which to consider contemporary, national issues concerning the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in care.
Let’s hope so! Above all: let’s hope the ‘sound basis’ will STOP the organised and orchestrated abuse and exploitation!!!
Next steps for the investigation:
- The Inquiry will hold a preliminary hearing in relation to this investigation on Thursday 24 March 2016 at 10.30am in Court 73 of the Royal Courts of Justice, London. It will focus on deciding procedural matters relating to the Inquiry’s investigation into the extent of any institutional failures to protect children in the care of Lambeth Council.
- Preliminary hearings are generally open to the press and the public. There will be a small public gallery at each preliminary hearing and places allocated on a first come, first served basis. A number of spaces will also be reserved for the media.
- Although the Inquiry is not yet accepting evidence from individuals for this, and other, investigations at this stage, the Inquiry is encouraging all victims and survivors of child sexual abuse to share their experience.
